Mok says:
‘Clown fish are perfect subjects for underwater photography as they are brightly coloured and cooperative in front of the lens. During a dive in Pulau Weh, Banda Aceh, Sumatra I found a family of three residing in a sea anemone. Sea anemones come in a variety of colours, but bright neon pink was a rare find. The two adult fish were closely guarding their newborn, an adorable baby clown fish no larger than my smallest fingernail. It was shy and would dart in and out from the sea anemone.

Taking the picture was particularly challenging – I had to station myself close enough to the sea anemone, yet try to remain still as the water surged around me. I waited for about half an hour before the family felt safe in my presence. I didn’t want to stress the baby out with continuous flashes from my strobe, so I waited until the baby swam away from the comforts of the sea anemone long enough for me to take a picture in one attempt.’
