‘I discovered this fire salamander along the mid-mountain trails in Trentino-South Tyrol, northern Italy. The image was made during heavy rainfall when these amphibians come out of their burrows and can be more easily spotted. It blended in perfectly with the surrounding bed of autumn leaves.’
