‘I found this mushroom in a local woodland. Noticing the potential, I returned a few days later on a misty morning, hoping that the mist would simplify the background and create an interesting atmosphere. I used a standard focal length to get a certain amount of compression of the trees in the background. Finally, I lit the underside of the mushroom with my phone torch to eliminate any harsh shadows.’
