Melanie says:
‘During lockdown I realised how fortunate I am to be living by the sea. Growing up near the coast influenced me as a child, the open space being so important for my brain and my wellbeing. Having all of this on my doorstep has been a lifesaver.

Scrambling down from the well trodden coast path, there are treasures to be found along the shoreline. For a few hours I can get totally lost amongst the rocks, wandering through the newly fallen boulders that show their hidden treasures for the first time to human eyes. What a treat!

My partner is a mountain guide, he has shown me what to look out for so it's safe for me to wander here without fear of being cut off from the tide or from rock fall. The colours change with the seasons and the time of day. Sometimes "Cornish Storm" looks grey and moody, sometimes blue and light like the ocean that has carved its patterns, telling its story of turbulence and erosion.’
