‘Pine trees are gymnosperms, which are non-flowering plants that bear seeds. They have reproductive cells of both males and females being present on each tree. These gametes, are found in the familiar pinecone, also known as a strobilus.

This image shows the primary xylem and the secondary xylem rings, which enable the pine tree to enrich and grow through photosynthesis. Pine stems also contain bands of cells called rays and scattered resin ducts.’
