Sophia says:
‘In the spring my front garden is full of crocus blooms. I have taken many photos of them but there is often too much green from the crocus leaves and the grass around them. For this photo I used a blue background to give a softer feel, as if the crocus was floating in a sea of flowers. I used the Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens with a wide aperture to get a very soft focus image and then took another photo at f11 so that the stamen was not too soft. I then combined them in Photoshop.’
